~A Vancouver Island adventure family photoshoot~
It was a pleasure photographing this ocean-loving family last week at Beachcomber Park in Nanoose Bay. Ocean must be an inherent gene in these four, as little Brooke got her diaper salt-water soaked within the first five minutes- she was compelled to play and find rocks in the water, and handsome Trace just couldn’t keep his eyes off of the ocean. This was their first time having family photographs taken, and I am so glad they did. I think everybody deserves to have keepsakes of their memories. At the end of the day, it’s our memories that are most important right? They brought Ziva the dog too, who had a blast running around the park and instantly came to her parents whenever called- however far away she was.
Jaime and Kurtis had never had family photographs taken, just the one from Christmas. We connected quickly and over a phone call, we decided to photograph their adventurous family photoshoot session beside the ocean. They love the ocean, and visit local parks frequently. Kurtis is from Haida Gwaii and at the beginning of our shoot mentioned they will do a family trip there soon. I thought to myself, “Aren’t the kids too young to appreciate the ocean there?” Oh no! Just two and one years old, both kids had an absolute blast sitting in the water, throwing rocks at the ocean, and commenting on boats that floated by. I was definitely mistaken about that! These are what memories are made of.
