Island Kids First Family Photos at Rathtrevor Beach

Heather grew up with three autistic brothers, and chose to continue living a life helping children with disabilities. Heather lives with her sister, who also has an innate passion for helping children. They take care of five children and wouldn’t choose any other life. Both of the boys have Down Syndrome and Wyatt was recently diagnosed with Autism. Heather was advised of a long list of specialized equipment that would benefit Wyatt’s growth, which was expensive. It was difficult for Heather to afford, and was very encouraged to learn about the Bear Essentials program through Island Kids First which helps fund equipment to kids with health care needs. After her application was accepted, Heather was feeling immense relief and gratitude to the foundation for their help- they paid for the full list of equipment!

Island Kids First reached out to me to photograph Heather and her boys to use the images in a fundraising campaign. I was very happy to help them out and wish them success in their spreading the word about the Bear Essentials program. Throughout the photoshoot at Rathtrevor Beach, Kason kept us all laughing with his infectious smile and beach dancing joy. Wyatt was enjoying the time outside with his family, and we photographed the criteria needed for the campaign. It was so lovely to meet this incredible family!
