Cassandra was visiting Tofino from Campbell River with her family, she was actually getting married there! The day before her family photshoot at Tonquin Beach, she had gotten married to her hunny. It was a rainy September day in Tofino, and she was happy to see that our session would not be in the rain, but another traditional weather pattern for Tofino; fog. Cassandra appreciates having proffessional photographs taken, as her family isn’t big on taking pictures together during their hanging out, and selfies just don’t always cut it! At Tonquin Beach, we photographed her full family including her parents, her sister, her brother, and her sisters husband and son. With my family sessions, I like to photograph every familial grouping. So we captured just the mother and her two daughters, just the siblings, couples, and of course candid in between moments too.
Tonquin Beach, Tofino ~ a Popular Place to Take Photos
I love taking family and couples photographs at Tonquin Beach in Tofino. It is a 3 minute drive from the downtown area, and a short walk through the forest to reach the beach. It is easy-access, and showcases both the West Coast rugged forest and sandy beaches with some neat rock formations. It’s a great place to watch the sunset if you get lucky and have a rain/fog free day in Tofino!
