An Intimate Tigh Na Mara Wedding In Parksville, BC

Emily and Dylan’s Intimate Tigh Na Mara Wedding Celebration

Emily and Dylan celebrated their marriage at the beautiful Tigh Na Mara Resort in Parksville on September 12th, 2024. These two live in Alberta with their one year old daughter, and took a rapid road trip to get to the Island to marry by the ocean. Tigh Na Mara is a fantastic setting for destination weddings since everything is in one place- accommodation for family and friends, honeymoon suite, ceremony site, wedding photo locations, and reception space. Gathering family from afar is easy at Tigh Na Mara. Not to mention their Small Wedding Package. Emily and Dylan chose the curated, simplified package, making their wedding planning easy and affordable. I am so glad they selected me as their add on photographer for three hours :)

During the initial call with Emily to see if we were a good match, I asked her what she most looked forward to about her wedding. She mentioned that seeing her partner Dylan dressed up was something she was really excited about. She never sees him gussied up! In my planning out the three hours with them, I made sure to allow a solid 20 minutes with the guys to document the getting ready process. Emily and Dylan opted to see each other for the first time as she walked down the aisle, but we did sneak in a sweet first look with Emily and her father.

After heartfelt vows were exchanged, these two gave a wonderfully lengthy kiss (as a photographer I appreciate having the time to get creative and capture a variety of shots in that moment!) With the sunshine turning the shallow waters below them a tropical blue, and keeping guests comfortably warm in the mild September temperatures, everyone mingled and congratulated the couple before beginning family photos. After family photos at the gazebo area, we took the bridal party and newlyweds down to the beach. School is back in session September 12th, and the beach was very quiet. We had a ton of fun photographing romantic portraits of these two, and silly bridal party pictures too. Emily’s Flora and Lane Eden dress was stunning, and I adored how it could be flung into the air with pizazz!

After photos were taken at the beach, my time with Emily and Dylan ended. They would enjoy the rest of their reception doing something a little different- an outdoor barbeque at Tigh Na Mara. Thank you so much for trusting me to document your wedding memories you two!
