Ashley and Chris’s Nanaimo Wedding
Their love story began…
At work! I can’t tell you who liked who first, but maybe the boss can? ;) They became friends and then became life partners. With mutual hobbies and a passion for gaming, reading comic & fantasy books and travelling Japan, similar life goals and same friend circles, they decided to adopt a Bullmastiff together. After handing the big guy together for a couple of years, Chris proposed to Ashley. They were ready to get married!
Wedding Day Details;
They fell in love in Nanaimo and plan to start a family here too, what a perfect place to become married then! The girls got ready at the Coast Bastion Hotel where the newlyweds would also be spending the night together. It’s a gorgeous setting for the getting ready photos; bright, spacious and airy with a beautiful view of downtown and the ocean. Their ceremony was held in Bowen Park, a large park in central Nanaimo with a variety of options for both indoor and outdoor locations. They chose to be married beside the Duck Pond. Bowen Park is a lovely place to get married and is also convenient as you can have your formal photographs taken at the same location. Their reception was held in the Pleasant Valley Hall, a quaint, spacious hall with a large kitchen.
On a budget? No problem. Ashley and Chris saved money by making their own decorations, cooking their own dinner, and having a co-worker gift them their wedding cake. Woot woot!
