Bonny and Kelly’s Backyard Wedding Celebration, Western Style!
Bonny and Kelly celebrated their marriage with a Western-themed backyard wedding. Her parents Parksville home turned out to be the perfect setting. The space was intimate and very homely, yet did not feel crowded at all! As an outsider hired to photograph moments and memories, I could feel that all 60 guests knew each other well and were a loving close family. It was a DIY, FUN kind of day. One of their guests was chef that day, cooking up a storm in his suspenders and weaved sun hat, happy as could be. There was no stress, just a big family gathering of people happy to be together.
The couple themed their wedding Western, and wore cowgirl/cowboy boots and hats. It was so cute to see a his and her hat, and hers had a veil! Many of their guests could be seen wearing jean jackets or plaid. They were an awesome looking group! Bonny and Kelly chose to casually take formal photos prior to their ceremony. As guests arrived, we went to the front yard in the beautiful sunshine to take family portraits. It was a very relaxed and casual formal photo method.
Bonny had reached out to me about three weeks prior to her July wedding, asking if I was available. This is fairly last minute for a summer wedding, but I happened to be free! Bonny’s two daughters had encouraged her to hire a wedding photographer, as they both valued this vendor at their weddings. I was so pleased to hear that Bonny and Kelly were grateful they decided to hire me after delivering the photos. There were so many cute cowgirls and cowboys to capture!
