Ciara and Erwin’s Black Brook Lodge wedding took place in mid-February on a mild Vancouver Island winter day. Held at the Black Brook Lodge in Deep Bay, this spacious venue was able to accommodate their intimate group of about 25 guests. The living room wedding ceremony just oozed coziness. Guests were seated on both comfy couches and regular chairs, near and close to the couple as they exchanged vows. Both of their parents came up during the ceremony and blessed the couple with well-wishes, a sweet touch to the wedding ceremony. Ciara’s grandfather was also a pastor, legally capable of marrying the two! How special to have your grandpa as your officiant!? Another highlight sweet moment I witnessed was Ciara and her father seeing each other for the first time. Cirara’s dad stood on the outside steps and was thrilled to see his daughter just moments before the ceremony started.
The entire day felt like family. Kids were running around the house as everybody changed into their wedding clothes, one of Erwin’s family members was putting the finishing touches on cupcakes, and grandparents cuddled with the kids on the couches. Ciara and Erwin got ready separately, and then met at the nearby Sunny Beach Public Water Access just a 60-second drive away. Erwin waited at the beach watching the waves as Ciara came up behind him and embraced him in a hug. They would spend about 20 minutes here enjoying a private moment together before the ceremony and reception began. We took this opportunity for a few romantic photos on the beach. Aren’t they just so in love!? Ciara’s baby breath and rosemary bouquet was another wonderful touch to the day.
Thank you so much for having me, Ciara and Erwin! Wishing you both a lifetime of art, love, adventure, and bliss.
