Meet Your Parksville Photographers, Travelling Vancouver Island

Hello! A Little Introduction About Your Parksville Photographers

Devee Photography is staffed with two proffessional Parksville photographers; Deanna, the business owner and lead photographer, and Yannick, her fiancé, who handles the videography side of things or acts as second shooter. Deanna has lived on beautiful Vancouver Island her entire life (okay, well since she was three!) and is completely and passionately head over hiking boots in love with it. Yannick was drawn to the Island in his early 20’s, moving here from Quebec in search of a home where he can grow his own food year-round. When they are not spending time at home obsessing over their kids *cough… cats*, you’ll find them out hiking, camping, or taking silly photos laying in the leaves at the local tennis courts.

Doing my thing in my happy place; mountains, trees and lovers ♥ RIP to this beautiful mountain ridge; Wesley Ridge, which was significantly burned due to a human-caused wildfire in 2025.

Your Parksville Photographers Values and Purpose

1. Authenticity

I capture people as they truly are — real, relaxed, and fully themselves. My work is rooted in natural moments rather than stiff poses that look they were curated for the cover of a glamor magazine. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy capturing a few of those images, especially on a wedding day. But my primary focus is to get the real you. The crinkled laugh lines, the honest expressions, the true posture. Through movement, play, prompts and guided posing, relaxed body language AND expressions that feel natural shine through in your photographs. 2. Connection

Every session is built on creating genuine comfort, connection and trust with my clients. Being an empath, I work well with a variety of people. I can sense how and when to bring you out of any awkwardness or discomfort, allowing you to be yourself in front of the camera. Most people feel a little awkward having their photograph taken. I get that! I believe that feeling comfortable in front of the camera is the #1 most important factor in what makes a good photo. I can get you there!

3. Celebration of Human Nature

I create images that celebrate the quiet magic already present in your everyday life. I’m deeply drawn to the beauty of human nature in its simplest, most honest form.

Have you ever wished for just one more day with someone you’ve lost? Most of us wouldn’t plan anything extraordinary—we’d walk together, talk, share a meal, and simply be in each other’s presence. It’s not the details we miss most, but the feeling of being together. That’s what I look for when I photograph people. The in-between moments: shared jokes, gentle embraces, laughter, and connection as it naturally unfolds. I watch as families and couples live their lives, interacting in ways that feel familiar and true.

My hope is to capture those moments and reflect them back to you—images that honor your relationships and the beauty of your human nature, exactly as it is.

4. Vancouver Island’s Natural Wild Beauty

From oceanside cliffs to misty forests, I embrace the wild beauty of Vancouver Island. I encourage couples and families to be playful, explore, and show who they are among the most beautiful landscapes of Vancouver Island. Although we are Parksville photographers, we travel Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands regularly for work. I am also equipped for some serious hiking, for those looking to get to truly wild places.

5. Emotional Storytelling

I don’t just take photos — I preserve memories. Through a documentative approach, I focus on capturing images that reflect your human nature, naturally.

6. Warm Professionalism

With clear communication, thoughtful guidance, and a calm, encouraging presence, I make your experience seamless while still keeping it fun and human.
