An Intimate Tigh Na Mara Wedding in September
Miranda and Lucas enjoyed their Tigh Na Mara wedding among an intimate group of 30 family members and friends. Amazingly, nearly all of these guests travelled from either Alberta or the mainland to be there. Miranda and Lucas were also from Alberta, and chose Tigh Na Mara for its beautiful beachside setting and all-inclusive wedding packages. A destination wedding on Vancouver Island! I loved that their group seemed to know each other like lifelong friends. They had planned a get together at the local Mount Arrowsmith Brewery the evening before to get to know each other and spend quality time. The vibe of the wedding was easygoing, friendly, and filled with laughter.
Miranda and Lucas chose to have a first look prior to the ceremony. I had Lucas head down to the beach first and gaze out towards the ocean. Miranda was a few minutes later than expected, and poor Lucas stood staring at the ocean obedient and chill as can be the entire time! What a guy! But was it ever worth the wait to see his best friend dressed in her gorgeous lace dress smiling away. We took family photos shortly afterwards, and then friends photos after the ceremony.
Golden Hour Photos
Miranda and Lucas also chose to take 15 minutes at golden hour to take some golden glow photos. This happens on every sunny day during the 1 hour before sunset. At Tigh Na Mara, a really lovely spot to shoot these is just beside the barbeque area on the path that leads back to the resort. It’s about a 2 minute walk from the main reception building, and oh so worth the moment. I encourage this as it also allows the couple to take a moment completely alone on their wedding day to refresh and connect. LOVEEEE this!
