Engagement Photos up Mount Washington, Playing in the Snow as True Winter Lovers
Sheila and Ian moved to Vancouver Island from the Canadian winter provinces a few years ago, and feel a strong familiarity and comfort with a cold, wintery day. For their engagement photos, we knew where we should go! Up Mount Washington in Paradise Meadows! These two really love the snow, like, without reservation. They were very playful together and had fun tossing snow into the air and at each other. During a little snow fight, they threw the white stuff around for a solid few minutes before laying down and making snow angels. Awwww, how cute!
A Beautiful Day for Mount Washington Engagement Photos
February 1st, 2022. We had chosen this date a few weeks earlier, and the weather decided to bless us with a beautiful sunny day and warmth too. It was about 6 degrees Celsius up there, which made spending time easy and without much chill. There was no wind. We decided to catch to the golden hour glow, just 1.5 hours before sunset. We started shooting at 3:45pm and finished at about 4:30pm once the sun had gone down below the tall peaks of Strathcona Park in the distance. Shooting at this low-angled light allowed the fluffy thrown snow to be illuminated into a beautiful cloud! What a day!
