Sandcut Beach Engagement Photos; Kayla & Troy

Playing Crib and Drinking Beer at Sandcut Beach

Kayla and Troy’s Sandcut Beach engagement photos were taken on a typical West Coast day; overcast with a sprinkle of rain. Equipped with a cute rain jacket and clear umbrella, these two were not phased by the weather whatsoever. They actually visit here often- exploring Port Renfrew beaches had become one of their hobbies during the pandemic and it is now something they enjoy on the regular! Sipping a beer while playing crib on the beach is legit something you might find these two doing, so it was great to incorporate some of their interests into the engagement session.

It was great getting to know Kayla and Troy at their engagement session, before photographing their Tigh Na Mara wedding a few months later. It’s a great opportunity for us to learn more about each other, and get comfortable in front of my lens. These two were comfy from the get go, and had a blast at their shoot!

Sandcut Beach

Sandcut Beach is a 3.5km long pebbled beach nestled in between Port Renfrew and Jordan River. Some of the features of Sandcut are the waterfall and eroding sandstone walls. You’ll hear that beautiful west coast pebble pull as the waves fall back into the ocean, pulling the rocks back with them. This is also an exceptional sunset viewing location, and beach fire friendly ;) The trail from the parking lot is just 400 meters long, (with stairs!) taking you through an old growth Sitka Spruce forest. I love shooting here for the natural diversity this setting boasts. Rainforest, expansive pebbled beach, waterfalls, driftwood, and sandstone walls. Sandcut Beach engagement photos are a regular sight you may find here, for all of these reasons!
