A Springtime Wedding at Milner Gardens
Sheila and Ian’s Milner Gardens wedding was held in late May, a springtime celebration on a sunny day in Qualicum Beach. The 70 acre property was in full bloom at this time, filling the scenery with colorful flowers, unfurling ferns, and vibrant green grass. Guests enjoyed the walking trails through old growth Douglas Fir, and views looking out towards the ocean and distant mountains. This Qualicum Beach wedding venue is a true gem. Absolutely gorgeous for both nature, ceremony setting, and indoor space for getting ready. The Tea House is covered in Ivy, has separate rooms for both the girls and the guys to get ready in, and has the cutest little library full of gardening books. ♥
When Sheila was ready to see her man for a private first look prior to the ceremony, a spunky idea came to her mind…. to hide in the bush and jump out at her hubby! I asked Ian to stand by the flowers for a few solo photos, and that’s when Sheila lunged out in a laughing attack! I’ve come to find out that Sheila is hilarious, and frequently had their guests laughing throughout the day. She and Ian were nearly doubled over in giggles during their ceremony at one point. You couldn’t help but feel the contagious happiness!
After their heartfelt and giggled ceremony, a few photos were taken in the gardens before driving back to their home for the reception. They purchased their first home together a couple of years prior, and were deep in renovations to prepare for their wedding. Motivation deadline! They nailed it! The backyard was beautifully laid out for guests to mingle and play. Games, bubbles, a food truck, craft beer, and custom cocktails were enjoyed. The evening was fairly casual, with a speech by Ian’s best man, and a tree planting ceremony. The smiles these two and their family were boasting this day were full-bodied and heartfelt. Huge congratulations to the happy couple, for accomplishing so much and living life so joyfully. ♥
