Wild and Cozy’s Whimsical Lakeside Elopement
Ashley and Braeden are both the hosts and models for this Wild and Cozy whimsical lakeside elopement. This content creation day was hosted by the real-life lovers and business owners of Wild and Cozy. February 10th, 2024 would turn out to be a cloudy, moody day with a sprinkling of rain and a mild 7 degrees or so. Absolutely perfect weather for a flock of photographers looking to create beautiful photographs! The setting was Stirling Arm Lake House at Sproat Lake in Port Alberni, complete with a beautiful high ceiling-home and of course this dock. I’m sure the photos would have turned out pretty on a sunny day, but this moon-shaped arbor has them appearing to be in the literal clouds!
Ashley and Braeden have been modelling since 2018, six months into dating. They’ve been published multiple times and have made genuine connections with photographers all over Vancouver Island and beyond. I love it when they say they treat every photoshoot like a date- and it’s obvious too. Their adoration for each other comes through so naturally in front of the camera. These two are helping raise up the photography community with their passion for being photographed- giving us amazing content and portfolio pieces, teaching us new poses, and inspiring creativity. Her collection of rentable dresses through her business, “Wild and Cozy Closet,” are also a wonderful tool. Through Ashley’s experience as a model, she understands what photographs well. The moon arbor was a spontaneous last-minute build. The night before the content day, Braeden built this and painted one side white, one side black. We also shot the black moon on this content day. The faux floral arrangement was made by the incredibly talented Lisa of Fleur de Lii
